Modbus  TCP/RTU Protocol

The Modbus-Protocol is a master/slave or client/server communication protocol, for the connection of a PC for example, with several slaves.

The Modbus protocol integrated into WEBfactory 2010 supports these operations

• Modbus RTU for communication via a RS 232/RS485 interface
• Modbus TCP via an Ethernet network connection

The native Modbus protocol integrated into WEBfactory 2010 has the following performance characteristics:

• Bit by bit reading and writing
• Word by word reading and writing
• Block by block reading and writing
• Up to 255 interfaces per Modbus connector are supported
• More than 8000 participants can be addressed
